MANKATO, Minn. – Three stellar songwriters from Minnesota will perform Tuesday, October 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Minnesota State University, Elias J. Halling Recital Hall in Mankato at the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.
This activity is made possible in part by Minnesota voters through a grant from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council through a statutory appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
The showcase features Erik Koskinen, Molly Maher and Sarah Morris. The evening will feature an incredible lineup of three of Minnesota’s top songwriters offering their original music and accompanying stories.
Erik KoskinenThe music is a mix of American folk, country, rock’n’roll and blues. Koskinen was hailed by longtime music critic Jon Bream as “the best pure country singer-songwriter in the state”. First Avenue Calls Molly Maher an incomparable singer and songwriter with an impressive catalog of folk soul and country music with irresistible depth and soul. Chris Riemenschneider, Star Tribune, said, “Sarah Morris is a roots singer who offers a Norah Jones approach to Americana, smoothing her rough edges with a velvety voice and intimate songwriting style.”
