…iHeartMedia Ft. Myers and BMI present “Songwriters for Southwest Florida” a relief concert to benefit Lee County hospitality workers. The concert will take place November 2-3 at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville and will feature BMI songwriters who have performed at the festival since its inception. Some of the singer-songwriters contributing to the evening’s lineup include Aaron Barker, Kristian Bush of Sugarland, Sheena Brook, Brooke Eden, Tim James, Paul McDonald, Frank Myers, Danny Myrick, Maggie Rose, Stephanie Quayle and Maia Sharp. Additionally, an online auction will feature signed items from Luke Bryan, Hardy, Leslie Jordan, LOCASH, The Beach Boys’ Mike Love and Frank Myers. “Hurricane Ian dealt a tremendous blow to the coastline of Southwest Florida residents and businesses, especially the hotel, hospitality and restaurant workers we work so closely with every year. in the planning and execution of the Island Hopper Songwriter Fest,” VP Programming Louis Kaplan, Sr. said in a statement. “We are very grateful to all the festival artists, past and present, who have stepped up on behalf of the people who have been so damaged by the storm. … Old North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory will join Beth Troutman and Bo Thompson on radio one news/talk WBT AM/FM Charlotte (1110/99.3) every Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., the news watcher reports. McCrory previously co-hosted a program with Thompson from 2017 until April 2021, when he announced his run for the U.S. Senate. He is also a political analyst and contributor to NBC’s “Meet The Press” show.
…Russell Rushafternoon host iHeartMedia CHR “96.1 Now” KXXM San Antonio, was placed in hospice care. The 14-year-old market veteran announced he was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma in 2019. “We are heartbroken but blessed and need nothing but love right now,” his wife Saralyn wrote on Facebook, according to MySanAntonio.com. “We will be working on the memorial services, so I will try to give an update as soon as possible.” Rush celebrated his 44th birthday in August.
