Lots of great music at the Songwriters Festival

To honor Thomasville native Terry Hill’s endless love of music and songwriting, his family created the HWY 43 Songwriters Festival, featuring musicians from across Clarke County and around the world. elsewhere in a celebration of local songs and talent.

Everyone is invited to come tap your feet and enjoy this one-of-a-kind festival being held in Thomasville this weekend. Funds raised will benefit the ALS Association, whose mission is to discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate and empower those affected by ALS to live full lives.

The schedule for the Friday and Saturday event is below:

Friday, November 18 at 7 p.m. Pickin’ Party : It will be an evening of campfire songs with performances by local artist Tucker McKee and others. Participants are encouraged to bring their instruments and scratch.

Saturday, Nov. 19 @ 10 a.m. Cookies & Jam: The morning jam session will take place at the Thomasville Civic Center. Names taken from a hat will bring the musicians on stage for improvised mini-concerts. Cookies will be served to all.

Saturday, November 19 at 3 p.m. downtown: Spend the afternoon in downtown Thomasville listening to music, Nashville writer-style, with songwriters taking turns telling stories and sharing original songs.

Saturday, November 19 at 7 p.m. Main Stage Event: It’s the big show at Thomasville Civic Center with performances from hit songwriter Mark Narmore, Caroline McGowan, Jordan Allen and The Bellweathers, Jack Binkard and more!
