On Saturday, June 11, BMI presented Tribeca Talks: The Art and Business of Scoring for Film, TV & Visual Media, as part of the Tribeca Festival Music Lounge at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn. The panel, moderated by BMI Senior Vice President Creative Alex Flores, included leading composers Kathryn Bostic, Carlos Rafael Rivera and Tamar-kali, who dived into an engaging conversation around the creative process and business side of composing for movies. Speaking to a large audience including many students, the panelists shared what it takes to get your music heard, the relationship between directors and composers, and what inspires them to create every day.
