The launch and first performance of “Folk Songs”, the new album by Irish chamber group Ficino Ensemble, and Irish singer Michelle O’Rourke, released on the Ergodos label.
The concert will be a performance of the full album, which features Luciano Berio’s now classic collection of folksong arrangements from 1964, along with four new works, each engaging in the spirit of the folksong, specially commissioned to composers Judd Greenstein (USA), Kevin O’Connell (IRL), Kate Moore (AUS-NL) and Garrett Sholdice (IRL).
